GRASPS
Goal: Haiti has recently had an earthquake, and your goal is to raise 700 million dollars to help the country rebuild.
Role: You are the advisers to the newly elected president of Haiti who is looking for a presentation that persuades the other nations of the world to donate government money to help aid and rebuild Haiti.
Audience: Your audience is the G20 leaders, who are the presidents of the 20 most economically powerful nations of the world, who will decide if their countries will donate money to help your country rebuild.
Situation: In three weeks the G20 leaders will be meeting to discuss what countries will be receiving aid from their countries your president will be at this meeting. Due to the recent earthquake that has devastated your country, the president is meeting with the G20 leaders to gain monetary support to rebuild your country. The president is having his advisers create a presentation that he will use at the G20 meeting; before the meeting the president will choose one presentation that he will use at his meeting with the world leaders. Without this money, the president will have to go to the World Bank and take out a loan to pay for the country's rebuilding efforts. The last thing the president wants to do is take out a loan to pay for the rebuilding effort, because he knows, as well as you too, that your country will be unable to pay back the loan while the rebuilding process occurs.
Product/Performance: You need to create a movie on Xtranormal that integrates the current and past history of Haiti, as well as use the data available on Haiti.

Dear Advisers,
As you all know our country has recently had a tragic earthquake that has cost us many lives and devastated our country's economy. This has me concerned about the current situation facing our citizens; economy and country as a whole. Our country is facing a financial crisis; to prevent this I am going to the G20 meeting in three weeks to hopefully gain monetary support. If this meeting is not successful I would be forced to go to the International Monetary Fund and take out a loan; as you all know we would like to avoid any more loans as they are difficult to pay off in the current financial crisis.
To help me at my meeting I would like each of you to prepare a Xtranormal movie presentation about our country's past, present and future; in this presentation include any relevant data that would persuade opinions in our favor. I will chose from the group of presentations and use one to present to the G20 world leaders. This presentation needs to be professional, since it will form the opinions of the world leaders that would donate money to our rebuilding efforts.
